Sustainability Policy

As Adoksan Tekstil, we undertake the following for a more liveable future in line with our understanding of 'Respect for the Environment and People' and 'Honesty and Transparency', which are among our core values.

Social Compliance
Respect for Human Beings

Employees shall be treated with dignity and respect. Physical punishment, sexual, racial, verbal abuse, abuse of power or intimidation, forced or involuntary labour shall not be allowed under any circumstances. Bonded, jailed and illegal labour shall not be accepted. The right of employees to leave their employment after reasonable notice will be respected. The freedom of movement of the employees shall not be restricted.

In cases such as recruitment, remuneration, participation in training, promotion, termination of employment or retirement, there shall be no discrimination on the basis of race, caste, creed, nationality, religion, language, age, physical or mental disability, gender, marital status, sexual orientation, union membership, pregnancy, HIV, AIDS, hepatitis, Covid-19 or political opinion.

Employees shall be able to express their wishes, complaints and suggestions through the complaint mechanisms established without the risk of reprisal.

Child Labour and Youth Labour

Employment of persons under the age of 16 and child labour will not be implemented or supported. Employees under the age of 18 who are over the age of 16 will be employed in accordance with the laws and standards applicable to the status of Young Labour. Young workers will not be subjected to any condition that could be dangerous or unsafe for their physical or mental health and development.

Freedom of Association and Collective Bargaining Right

The right of all employees to form a union, to be a member of a union and to collective bargaining is guaranteed, without discriminating between employees. No negative attitude shall be displayed towards the employees due to the use of such rights, or no compensation or remuneration shall be offered to the employees in order to prevent the use of such rights. Likewise, an open and cooperative attitude towards the activities of the unions shall be displayed. Employee representatives shall be protected against discrimination and shall be able to carry out their representative duties freely in their workplaces.

Occupational Health and Safety

Occupational Health and Safety shall be prioritized in order to protect employees from work related accidents and occupational diseases. A preventive approach shall be adopted in all processes for the formation and dissemination of Occupational Health and Safety culture, regular trainings shall be provided to employees, compliance with local legislation, international agreements and standards shall be ensured, the health and safety risks that may occur due to work shall be minimized as much as possible and the processes shall be made effective by utilising the knowledge and experience of the employees.

Disciplinary Practices

Employees shall be protected against all forms of inhuman treatment and abuse. The use of mental or physical violence and verbal or physical harassment of employees in disciplinary practices shall not be allowed under any circumstances, and no fines shall be imposed.

Fair Wages

It shall be ensured that the wage paid for a standard working day is at least at the rate of the legal minimum wage, payments below the minimum wage shall not be accepted under any circumstances, and no deductions shall be made from the salaries of the employees without the express consent of the employees, except for the reasons specified in the law.

Employment Guarantee and Working Hours

All employment methods used shall comply with applicable local laws. Therefore, the rights of the employees specified under the labour and social security laws and regulations shall be within the framework of regular employment relations. Employees' rights shall not be made ineffective by implementing non-profit plans for regular employment. Daily and monthly working hours and leaves will be arranged in accordance with the provisions specified in the relevant legislation. Working overtime shall be voluntary, and shall be paid at rates in accordance with the relevant legislation. Each employee shall be able to examine their own payment details.

Ethical Business Conduct

No bribes, gifts or kickbacks shall be offered or accepted under any circumstances. Bribery and corruption shall not be tolerated.

Environment

In order to protect the environment and minimize natural resource consumption, applicable local and international laws and regulations standards, international conventions and requirements shall be complied with. In order to ensure that energy efficiency is maximized and energy is regained for production, to prevent adverse effects on climate and air quality, to protect water resources, to ensure the controlled use of chemicals, to minimize and recycle wastes, and to protect living things and natural habitats, progressive approaches shall be implemented in all our activities.

Product Health and Safety

In order to prevent our products from causing harm to the end user, product health and safety standards shall be developed, productions shall be made in accordance with these standards and the system shall be under control uninterruptedly.

Supply Chain and Production Traceability

Supplier acceptability standards shall be determined for a sustainable supply chain; it will be ensured that all relevant parties are guided and improved in order to ensure compliance with the standards, and also monitoring, measurement, inspection and review activities shall be carried out.

Customs Safety

With an effective risk management, actions shall be taken to ensure employee safety, facility security, information security, and shipment security against all kinds of threats that may arise from inside or outside the organization, and all operations shall be carried out in a safe manner, and continuous improvement shall be made through monitoring, measurement, inspection and reviewing activities.

Sustainability Management Systems practices shall be carried out with reference to national and local laws and the code of conduct of our customers. While implementing the Sustainability Management Systems, it shall be ensured that employee and management cooperation is established, consolidated and maintained, conflicts are identified and corrected, and continuous improvement is guaranteed.
